Daily Mail is reporting that Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to recruit Benfica wonderkid Renato Sanches.
The Red Devils made the first contact with the Eagles back in January and they are determined to lure the 18-year-old to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United scouts were present in Leiria as Portugal faced Belgium in an international friendly, with Sanches coming on as a second-half substitute.
The highly rated youngster, who has enjoyed a meteoric rise this season, has a £60 million release clause in his contract, but Benfica seem ready to consider offers in the region of £46 million.
The Eagles want £31 million up front plus another £15 million in various add ons in order to let the talented footballer leave Estadio da Luz.
Renato Sanches has made just 18 league appearances for Benfica, but he already has two Portugal caps to his name and is tipped to be on the plane to France.
